Last Thursday (14 January 2010), I attended an event organized by Nokia Malaysia at Royale Bintang, Mutiara Damansara, Malaysia. I was chosen as one of the 50 Nokia Music Explorers in Malaysia to attend the event. All I did was filling up a Nokia Music Explorer survey with honest answers, and then I was handpicked by Nokia Malaysia and Text 100, based on my interest in music (they said).

I was excited because that was one of the few times I won something in a competition. Each Nokia Music Explorer was given a Nokia X6 mobile phone, with Comes with Music subscription, which entitled him to download unlimited music for one year!

Before attending the event, I thought the event would evolve around the new Nokia X6 device, but I was wrong. It was nothing about the new mobile phone by Nokia, but it was about the Comes with Music store that Nokia would venture in. It’s a direct challenge Nokia was giving to Apple – iTunes, here I come! Nokia pre-launched their Ovi music player with music store during that event, got almost all explorers (except those who had Internet connection problem, like me) to activate the Comes with Music account and start downloading music.
