iPhone 4 is coming to Malaysia through DiGi
Just as everyone makes too much noise on iPhone 4 antennagate issue, and even the baseless rumour of new iPhone 5 coming real soon, Apple is expanding its reach to Malaysians by bringing in iPhone 4 via one of the largest mobile teleco in Malaysia, DiGi.
I received the above newsletter from DiGi just minutes ago. Plan prices have not been announced yet. Will keep you guys updated when it comes. Here’s the sneakpeak of DiGi bringing in iPhone 4 in further days to come. We are still waiting for Maxis to announce. Anyone has any heads-up?
The cheapest iPhone this world, nearest to Malaysia, is Singapore unlocked and contract-less set, at SG$888.
Just so you wonder why I find the rumours of iPhone 5 coming close this year silly (some say because of antennagate issue that pushes Apple too hard), here are the reasons:
- Antennagate issue is very minor. The media has over exaggerated the issue. It’s not a big problem.
- iPhone 4 was introduced on June 2010. If you are in Apple business, are you gonna kill your own product in the expense of less than 6 months?
- Some say Apple has not released iPhone 4 white because they are not gonna produce it, but building iPhone 5 to solve the antennagate hardware issue (again, over exaggerated). This is plain stupid because if Apple is gonna fix the hardware issue, it’s gonna make a biggest mobile phone recall in history just to satisfy its customers, and the cost of doing that is beyond imagination. No, Apple is not gonna fix the iPhone 4 hardware issue. The most, Apple is just gonna fix it via software. If no patch to solve the issue, Apple is just gonna leave it.
Apple iPhone 4 is NOT gonna be succeeded by iPhone 5 at least until Q2 of 2011. It will have a minimum 1-year life span in Apple’s mobile phone history line.
UPDATE: Maxis and DiGi are bringing in iPhone 4 by September 25.
